None of the various projects outlined were actually begun until after funding was acquired in 1933, under the National Industrial Recovery Act. The bird's-eye map shows both projects which did come to fruition (the Grand Coulee Dam) and some which did not (the series of dams, canals, and tunnels running down from Lake Pend Oreille).
