With a rather detailed illustration, this advertisement promotes bicycles made from Raleigh "the most famous man of Queen Elizabeth's Time". Being a celebrity, customer's might be inclined to believe it's quality of being the "best bicycles" around during the 1890's period. The portrait of Raleigh put a face to the name as well as a recognizable face to the product.
